Making the News Nationally!

I wanna thank Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker for his heroic work on Monday after the 2010 Holiday Blizzard pushing cars out the snow and helping streets get plowed. Just by recording him and taking photos, they aired on ABC 7 Good Morning America, Fox 5 News and The Weather Channel. I'm so excited for this honor and I would love to thank my honorable Mayor Cory Booker for working as hard as he did.

My Photo and Video Featured on NY Daily News Website

What turned out to be a random moment turned out to be a quite cool one. I tweeted a photo and video to my mayor, Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker last night to wake up to various positive feedback from tweets all over. The City of Newark and the Mayor Cory Booker loved my work. I didn't think it would get around like and to the attention of the NY Daily News. They requested my permission to use and credit my photo and video clip of Mayor Cory Booker helping local residents get through and out of the unplowed streets of Newark with man-power. I was quite honored that they would want to use my photograph and video.
Mayor Cory Booker's response was:CoryBooker Wow! That's kind of awesome.

Wow what a snow day for me?! :-)

I Won The Ultimate Michael Jackson Basket Raffle

All it took was $10 and a dream. I am such a huge Michael Jackson fan and the raffle was originally planned for last year. The non profit organization, Black Cotton Foundation, that held the event did not get enough sells of raffle tickets which caused them to postpone yet add more items to the basket. This gave me a second chance at it. So when I heard they were doing it, I had to jump on it. So my boyfriend and I purchased a ticket each. I kept my fingers crossed until they got sore lol. Then something else came up when they had to push the date back from Nov. 20th to Dec, 19th. That second date kind of through me off because I was low on cash and had no idea on how to get there. It was also a colder day and the train schedule is the worse on Sundays. So I did not attend. I sat home worried that if they did pick my name and I was not present would they raffle it off again. So after watching the Giants get defeated against the Phil. Eagles I became sadder. Then at 7:32 p.m. I received a phone call from my brother and he passed the phone to someone else. Not realizing I was on speaker, the crowd scared me when they yelled out "You won!" I screamed and jumped for joy. I just couldn't believe what I had heard. I love every item in the basket from the cds to the dolls. Thank you to the random person who pulled my ticket and Black Cotton Foundation. Here are a few photos I would love to share.

Halloween 2010

OMG! I had a blast as Michael Jackson this year. I love the energy I feel when people see my and are amazed at what they see. All people from young and old yelled out "Michael!" to me and some even said "Michael, we love you!" I felt Michael's spirit in me as I did some dance moves to get candy since I wasn't a young kid that look too cute lol. I had to still earn some of my candy which I acquired with no problem. Also that day, my boyfriend carried a pet-sized alligator puppet around with him being that he didn't have a costume. Boy, did he scare so many people. We had so much fun. I think next time I will bring my camera to take photos and video footage lol. But either way it was still a memorable day.

Below are photos of me, my sis as Princess Leia, her fiance as Darth Vadar, my mom, and the puppet that could frighten the most gangsta men out there. Enjoy!

Me as MJ with the Children

I went to my sister's school and helped her with her class. Today was their Halloween Parade where the walk around the outside of the school showing off their costumes. So i decided to dress as Michael Jackson again for Halloween this year. The looks on the children's faces and reactions were so priceless. I just had a good day with the children and their love for MJ was amazing like his spirit just jumped in each of their bodies, especially when this girl randomly started doing the "Thriller" dance moves when she saw me. Another child looked at me and said "i wish the real Michael was here so he can dance" and it brought a tear to my eye :) These children were no more than seven years-old. Michael has that touch even young children in that generation want him back. It amazed me how Michael Jackson was known in their hearts at such a young age. I started my love for MJ at a very young age as well, but he was so much more popular then. It was amazing and I gave my sister's class a private concert during their music class on stage as the teacher played "Billie Jean" on the piano. When the children came back upstair, they showered me with such beautiful compliments. Not only were the children reacting that way but other teachers, parents and admin were also feeling the love of MJ I was releasing. It was just a beautiful day and I would love to experience that nirvana again. :-)

Below was a photo taken when I was at the school and the other was by a co-worker when I paid a visit to my job.

El DeBarge Deserves a "Second Chance"

This is a beautiful new track from El DeBarge. I've been a fan for years so it is definitely great to see him back. When I first saw the video to this song I was so happy to see him and hear that angelic voice. I really hope his album go far and sell very well. I will definitely support him. He has had a rough life and i see that he is trying to change. OMG He still looks good, too. :-)

America's Next Top Model Inspired Photo

On Wednesday September 15, 2010, I watched the second episode of ANTM cycle 15 and the theme of their photo shoot was teen bullying. The girls had to think of a word that was said to them and hurt then as teenagers. Then the had to write the word all over their body and think of an opposite word that gave their negative word a positive feeling. For example, a girl was called "soup-cooler lips" because her lip size and she changed it to "luscious lips." But for me I wasn't bullied like most kids were but I still had harsh words thrown at me because i was a polite, educated and quiet kid. But I had some words thrown at me coming up as a child but I have overcame that.

My Brother's Wedding

Levi and Brionne's Wedding and Reception
September 11, 2010
The Forge Banquet Center

I still can't believe my brother is married but I'm so happy for him. I'm so glad he found the one to spend his life with and live happily together. As I grew to know Brionne, I knew she would be the one because how he would light up in her presence. I noticed the love bloom from a close friendship. She helped him in during rough times as well as he with her. I sat back and observed the bond that they share as friends and knew it would grow into love. When he told me a few months before he proposed that he wanted to marry her I was so excited but I kept the secret cause he didn't know when he was gonna do it. But when he did, he sent me a picture mail on my phone of a ring on a beautiful hand. I ran down the street in amazement after stopping completely what I was doing. I can't remember what I was doing if you ask me too cause I couldn't believe the news I had just received. You should have saw the look on their faces when I ran through the door. Over the course of time I did become anxious that my only brother was about to tie the knot. So that day they weren't the only ones who were all smiles so was I. Family and friends gathered for this occasion which definitely to them was a true blessing. I'm sure daddy was smiling down on us that day.
