My Easter Sunday Prayer

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

Jesus Christ has died for us and has risen from His grave to show He has the power. He is the truth, the way and the light. I am blessed to know that I honor a Man who has died for our sins. I am blessed to know that I honor a Man who has died to set us free. I am blessed to know that Jesus is not dead and that He lives. I am blessed to know He watches over us everyday and this is why I give Him thanks everyday. I will continue to honor and praise His name everyday. Amen." - Dominique Wilson

Happy Easter Everyone!

No Man, Nor Angels

When I started this blog two years ago, I vowed not to get too religious or political. But I didn't vow not to talk about Jesus completely. As you seen in my "My Easter Prayer" post, I am a believer of our Lord Jesus Christ. I do believe that he has died for our sins and rose from his tomb to walk by our sides today. I also believe that he will come back to take all his children home with him one day. Yet I do not know as well as others do not know the specific date or time he will arrive. Also, nobody knows when Doomsday will come upon us. We do see the signs happening in the world but that still give no man the opportunity to predict the Judgment Day or return of Christ.

Harold Camping is a Christian radio and television host who has claimed he used mathematics and the Holy Bible to predict the end of the world. People have been saying the world is coming to an end many times giving dates and has failed. Yet the fact that Camping has failed once before in 1994, he insisted it as a miscalculation and has redone it all. Now he predicts May 21, 2011 as Judgment Day and October 21, 2011 as the end of the world. He says he used the Bible to predict this but I think he has skipped one very important verse:
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" Matthew 24:36.

I know I don't know when Jesus will return. When he does I know I want to be ready. If by any chance this man is correct, I know I am prepared.

"Our Lord Jesus Christ lives! He was resurrected from his tomb and he lives! He lives in our hearts, he lives in our soul, and he is always by our sides. He walks with us, he talks to us, and he protects us by covering us with his blood. Today we will remember everything you have done for us. How you had sacrificed your life to save ours. We also like to thank our almighty God for sacrificing his only Son for us. We will continue to love you Lord and you will always keep us in your care. Amen." - Dominique Wilson

Good Friday and Earth Day

I think it was quite cool that both of these holidays fell on the same day. I still had to work today as well, but the day went smooth and kind of fast. Both of these holidays make up a huge portion of our lives one way or another.

Earth Day
I'm an environmental buff *hence what my major was in college* so I celebrate every Earth Day by wearing green of some sort. I love to promote environmental awareness. Our earth is definitely one thing we take for granted. I will continue to spread the message because everything starts with one. One day a few years back I stumbled upon an awesome shirt in JCPenney when I worked at the mall. I just had to have it. It made a statement "The Future is Green" and it also looked quite stylish. Plus everyone knows green is my signature color as well. I wore this shirt today at work and people gave me so many compliments. They also know I try to wear something that corresponds with holidays. When I got home my mom took some nice shots of me in my outfit. Pardon my tired look, it was after work but I wanted to take photos regardless.

Good Friday
I saved this part second because people remember the last thing first. Today is a holiday where we remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ has done for us. It is about how he died on the cross for our sins. Today in Newark, NJ various churches came together to for the Stations of the Cross walk. It was led by Rev. Mamie Bridgeforth and various Newark and area churches. Even the councilman of the West Ward, Ronald C. Rice, attended. They sang hymns and there was a preacher who spoke. There was a young man dressed as Jesus and another one dresses as a Roman. They carried a large cross. It is a very major event that is held every year, this time I was able to capture some footage and photos. Wish they were better but I was outside of my job without my coat and it was cold.
